The Dreamy Naturescapes of Nycol Beaulieu
I have been following Nycol Beaulieu’s work for almost twenty years. Nycol Beaulieu is an artist that observes. She looks at a lake, a hill, a structure lost in an immensity and paints it in the truest fashion possible.
The result of this precise work, anchored in unmodified reality, takes my spirit to a dreamlike place.
Nycol Beaulieu’s canvases draw our attention and are difficult to leave. Not being an artist, I ask myself, why do these clear and not-manipulated reproductions of nature shake me up?
Nycol Beaulieu’s new show is a peak in her artistic development all the while respecting the continuity of her work and interests.
You can see her show at La Maison de la culture Côte-Des-Neiges at 5290, Côte-Des-Neiges October 18th to November 25th 2012, Tuesday and Wednesday, 1 to 7 pm, Thursday and Friday, 1 to 6 pm and Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5 pm.
